RAAD Fest is the world’s largest event that focuses on what’s known as “radical life extension,” and is geared towards scientists and laypeople alike. The annual event combines scientific information with entertainment and inspiration, all with the overarching goal of prolonging human life. The founders of the event asked me to create a powerful visual “identity” (i.e., a brand) that would do two things: one, convey the overall spirit of the event; and two, grow consumer awareness of the scientific and technological advances that are currently shaping humanity’s future.
I decided that the overarching vision that would guide my work would be: "Humans seeing the infinite future". RAAD Fest stands for "Revolution Against Aging and Death," so I chose to use the infinity symbol to represent RAAD’s movement towards achieving an unlimited life span for human beings. The artistic, colorful nature of the logo’s background texture points to the humanistic and joyful theme of the festival. I wanted to highlight how the festival encourages those from different backgrounds and age groups to learn about the latest aging-related scientific breakthroughs, while still getting inspired and celebrating life.
From 2016-2018, I created logos, stage and entrance banners, brochures, name tags, DVD cases, t-shirts, social media banners and images, and other assorted visuals for each annual RADD Fest. In addition, I created a logo and stationery for the “Coalition for Radical Life Extension,” which is RAAD Fest’s primary sponsor.
